Prof Sandra Cooper is an Australian NHMRC Senior Investigator, Co-Head and Scientific Director of Kids Neuroscience Centre at the Children’s Hospital at Westmead, Professor of the University of Sydney, and Adjunct Scientist at the Children’s Medical Research Institute.

Prof Cooper's current major focus lies in clinical application of informatics and functional pipelines in RNA Diagnostics to identify and diagnose pathogenic RNA splicing variants.  She leads a national MRFF GHFM research program to embed RNA Diagnostics in clinical practice called RNA for Rare Disease (RNA4RD).  Her deep expertise in disease-associated mis-splicing now feeds a new research agenda of splice-modulating therapeutics.
