Dr Kim Farrington
Medical Head of Department - Sexual Assault Resource Centre
Professional Bio
Dr Kim Farrington has worked at Sexual Assault Resource Centre for over 20 years seeing adolescents and adults. Currently Kim is sharing the role of Head of Department at SARC. She regularly provides training to doctors, nurses, medical students, paramedics and police on the management of sexual assault patients. Kim is currently serving as Committee Chair for the Faculty of Clinical Forensic Medicine, within the Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia. She has served on several national committees with the purpose of improving sexual assault care across Australia.
Current projects include working on a response to sexual assault in the mining industry with other government departments, overseeing a pilot program for family and domestic violence patients, the relocation of SARC and improving sexual assault response in rural areas.
