Pathology Update 2025

Submissions are now closed.




All delegates are invited to contribute to the Pathology Update 2025 Scientific Program by submitting abstracts for the Roche E-Poster Prize.

You will be awarded AU$500 for the best e-poster from each major pathology scientific discipline (anatomical pathology, chemical pathology, forensic pathology, genetic pathology, haematology, immunopathology, microbiology).

 
Application criteria
  • The Roche E-Poster Prize is open to all delegates registered for Pathology Update 2025, including Trainees, Fellows, laboratory scientists and non-members.
  • To apply, you must be registered to attend Pathology Update 2025 with a full conference registration. You may submit your abstract before finalising your conference registration.

How to apply
  • Submit your abstract by 11:59pm (AEDT) on Thursday 28 November 2024.
  • Please review the abstract submission form instructions thoroughly prior to proceeded to submit your abstract.
  • E-poster PDF submission will open 2 December 2024 and close 18 December 2024.

E-Poster format requirements will be as follows:

  • PDF file only
  • Portrait orientation
  • 1 page only
  • Maximum file size shall not exceed 5mb
  • Minimum recommended resolution should be 1080 x 1920
  • 9w:16h Aspect Ratio
  • Note: Avoid grey backgrounds as they appear hard to read on screen

Author lists and affiliations

Author lists and affiliations must be added to the Abstract Overview/Description box.

They should be formatted as follows:

  • Co-authors must be listed with affiliations added as superscripts
  • The presenting author/speaker should be underlined (not bold or italics)
  • Affiliations should be written on one line in italics and separated by a semicolon (do not write one affiliation per line)

Example of correct referencing:

Jane Smith1, John Smith2

1Hospital A2Hospital B


Talk Contributors
Input the details of the Submitting/Presenting Author ONLY, then select 'Yes' for Presenting Author.
Additional Authors should only be added to the Abstract Description/Overview box.

  • Abstracts of original research
  • Abstracts selected for the DS Nelson, BEA or RCPAQAP Trainee Prizes cannot be entered for the Scientific Roche E-Poster Prize.
  • Full registration to attend Pathology Update 2025 is required as a condition of submission. Abstracts without registration of the submitting author (or co-author if notified) will be withdrawn.
  • If an abstract has been accepted, it is the responsibility of the applicant to keep copies of the acceptance for their CPD records.
  • Accepted abstracts will be published in the Pathology Update abstract supplement in the RCPA Journal Pathology.
  • E-posters will be on display onsite at Pathology Update using e-poster kiosks, and also available via the Pathology Update conference app. Delegates are not required to present or stand by their posters during Pathology Update.
  • Permission to publish. If your submission has been published previously, it is your responsibility to check the previous publisher’s copyright requirements before submitting the abstract. You must have permission from the publisher to present the published abstract and poster at Pathology Update.


  • If you are submitting an abstract/s from a commercial industry organisation you are not eligible for the cash award prize.
  • You need to include a Conflict of Interest statement clearly outlining each author’s affiliation with the organisation in writing on your abstract and e-poster.
